Three times WINKELPOWER

at the National Apprenticeship Competition

Competing against Austria’s best apprentices is a particular challenge. It is therefore all the more gratifying that three of our apprentices have qualified for the 2026 National Apprentice Competition:

  • Nikolas Tödling – Structural Steelwork and Welding Technology
    3rd place 🥉
  • Felix Thaller – Structural Steelwork and Welding Technology
  • Johannes Schwaiger – Machining

The competitions required not only manual dexterity and technical expertise, but also precision, concentration and nerves of steel. Our three young skilled workers were able to demonstrate what they have already learnt during their apprenticeships.

Bronze for Nikolas!

Following his victory in the regional apprenticeship competition, Nikolas Tödling continued his winning streak at national level. With a strong performance, he secured 3rd place in the steel construction and welding technology category, making him one of Austria’s top young skilled workers in his field.

Nikolas on his victory:
“I prepared intensively for the national apprenticeship competition and invested a lot of time in practising. I’m naturally delighted that all that preparation paid off with third place. It’s a great feeling to be on the podium at national level!”

Strong performance starts with a strong education

The achievements of our apprentices demonstrate just how much potential lies within the next generation of specialists. We place great importance on supporting young people right from the start, entrusting them with responsibility and providing them with a sound, practical apprenticeship.
A key part of this is learning directly on the production floor, supported by experienced specialists and our apprentice coaching programme. Through job rotation, our apprentices also gain insights into different production areas and become familiar with the diverse processes within our company.

The entire WI team warmly congratulates Nikolas, Felix and Johannes on their achievements! A big thank you also goes to all the trainers and colleagues who guide and support our young talents on their journey.
