With his victory at the 2026 State Apprentice Competition in the Metalworking Steel Construction and Welding category, our apprentice Nikolas Tödling has impressively demonstrated his skills. In recognition of this outstanding achievement, Nikolas was presented with the coveted Styrian Skills Award by the Styrian Chamber of Commerce (WKO Steiermark) as part of the Styrian Skills event. This honour is reserved exclusively for the winners of the Styrian apprenticeship competitions. Nikolas now has the chance to achieve his next major success: the ‘Apprentice of the Year 2026’ is selected from among all Styrian Skills award winners.
Styrian Skills Award
During the Styrian Skills awards ceremony, our apprentice Nikolas Tödling was honoured for his outstanding success in the regional apprenticeship competition. He received his award alongside Styria’s top apprentices. Also present at this special occasion were our senior partner Franz Winkelbauer, COO Gernot Schieg and our Head of Human Resources Johannes Burger were present in person and were among the first to offer their congratulations. This honour once again underlines the high quality of our vocational training and the great commitment with which Nikolas is completing his apprenticeship.

At Winkelbauer, young apprentices can complete their training in a modern, state-of-the-art production facility – equipped with welding robots, 5-axis milling centres and digital planning tools. There are seven different apprenticeship programmes to choose from. A wide range of development opportunities, such as job rotation, specialisations and exchange programmes with partner companies, await our apprentices. Team spirit, personal responsibility and individual support are at the heart of our approach.
