Versatile machinery for
Maximum vertical
range of manufacture
Wear-resistant steel with extra-high toughness meets maximum vertical integration in our versatile production. The result is uncompromising quality, whether as construction machinery equipment under the toughest conditions or as high-quality manufactured components, such as for the recycling industry. In our modern machinery, we emphasise the highest quality, think in new scales and cover the entire value chain to ensure seamless process sequences. We recognise the power of digitalisation and use it actively.
Through thick and thin
Sheet metal processing
Hardox, the best wear-resistant steel in the world, also deserves the best processing. All sheets are descaled with our continuous blasting system before the first cutting process. After plasma or autogenous cutting, the blanks are cleaned once again by blasting to remove scale and slag. Our blanks offer perfect cutting quality and clean surfaces – ideal for all further processing steps. Two press brakes shape the hardest Hardox wear-resistant steels or high-strength Strenx components with a pressing force of 800 tonnes to lengths of up to 6 metres.
Our strengths:
- Plasma cutting up to 50 mm sheet metal thickness
- Flame cutting up to 200 mm sheet metal thickness
- Bending up to 800 t press force / 6 m length
Tensile steels
Machining
Our focus is on difficult-to-machine steels such as Hardox wear-resistant steels up to Hardox 600 as well as extremely high-strength and tough Strenx steels. We have also designed our machine park for this in the machining department. This enables us to machine machine components with an extreme length of up to 10 metres and a unit weight of 10 tonnes in our modern systems without any problems.
Our machines at a glance:
- 4-axis travelling column milling machine
- Three 5-axis machining centres
- Machining centre 4-axis
- Double place machining centre 3-axis
- Machining centre 3-axis
- CNC lathe
- Cycle turning machine

Welding technology
Welding is a key process in our production that is learnt and perfected from the ground up. Our specialists work with high-strength and highly wear-resistant steels every day and therefore have the highest level of expertise in welding technology. Our welded joints fulfil the most extreme requirements and are exposed to the toughest applications. Especially in the equipping of construction machinery and in the manufacture of components. That is why we attach great importance to our perfect welds.
Our welding expertise:
- 2 “International Welding Engineers” (IWE)
- 4 “International Welding Specialists” (IWS)
- 40 highly qualified and certified welding technicians

Hand in hand
Robotics
Highly flexible robotic welding systems
When components up to 3.5 m long and weighing up to 6 tonnes are repositioned by 180° in just a few seconds, it is an impressive spectacle. From the small parts system for assemblies weighing up to 500 kg to the large parts system, five robot systems are available. We have had experience in robot welding since 1987 and know that precise preparatory work and a high level of welding expertise must go hand in hand to achieve perfect results.
Our systems at a glance:
- Two large-part welding robots up to 6 tonnes unit weight
- Large part welding robots up to 3 tonnes unit weight
- Compact welding robots up to 1 tonne unit weight
- Compact welding robots up to 500 kg unit weight
- Offline robot programming

Assembly & hydraulics
Modern manufacturing solutions
In addition to crane capacities of up to 10 tonnes and assembly stations for compact components weighing up to 1,000 kg, we also attach great importance to digital processes and quality assurance in our assembly department. We use hydraulic units for functional tests and final inspections as well as mobile and stationary hose presses.
The perfect look
Painting centre
We show our colours for quality.
The perfect look speaks for quality. We finish the attachments with a uniformly bright pink or silver-grey in our in-house paint centre. This colour mix is a striking quality feature on any construction site. Using modern overhead conveyors and sustainable paints, parts weighing up to 10 tonnes are painted with great attention to detail.
The Winkelbauer play of colours:
- Luminous pink quick couplers
- Bucket and shovel in elegant silver grey
- WI logo in silver grey
