We are reducing our
CO2 footprint
Winkelbauer reduces its CO2 footprint: With the second expansion stage of our photovoltaic system, we cover 20% of our annual electricity requirements. As a responsible company, we are now more than ever faced with the challenge of harmonising economic competitiveness and sustainability. We have always worked to conserve resources wherever possible. The integration of waste heat from our compressor systems into the hot water supply for 130 employees and the utilisation of process heat from our four cutting systems for hall heating in winter and hall cooling in summer are flagship projects.
We have always worked to conserve resources wherever possible. The integration of waste heat from our compressor systems into the hot water system for 130 employees and the utilisation of process heat from our four cutting systems for hall heating in winter and hall cooling in summer are flagship projects.
In recent years, we have developed a phased plan to expand our power supply. Over the next few years, we plan to continuously increase our own power supply through PV systems and efficiently utilise remaining areas on the company premises. We have set ourselves the long-term goal of supplying 80 % of our own electricity.
The current expansion phase provides 320 kWp and not only supplies green electricity for our nine e-cars, but also helps to reduce the amount of electricity we buy in due to our high in-house demand, which is also good for the environment.
“With the commissioning of our new photovoltaic system, we have taken another step towards making our energy supply more self-sufficient and environmentally friendly and are thus making a contribution to CO₂ reduction,” says Managing Director Michael Winkelbauer.
