Top 30 under 30
The Styrian Economic Chamber has selected the “Top 30 under 30” with a jury of experts. Stephan Winkelbauer is one of these 30 innovative young entrepreneurs. The jury was particularly impressed by his commitment to digitalisation, resulting in (almost) paperless production. Stephan sums up what he himself says about this award and his vision in his personal commentary:

I am delighted to have been recognised as one of the 30 under 30 young entrepreneurs in Styria!
Even though I wasn’t able to attend the award ceremony in person – I’m currently taking part in a military exercise with the Austrian army – my grandfather Franz Winkelbauer accepted the award on my behalf.
Together with my father Michael Winkelbauer, he has made our company what it is today: the leading processor of the hardest steels. They are great role models for me, and it fills me with pride to be working in the fourth generation to take Winkelbauer to the next level!
Digitalisation is what drives me
The industry is facing major challenges – but this is precisely where the potential lies. I see it as my job to help shape new solutions and develop our innovative strength in a targeted manner. After all, digital solutions create efficiency, sustainability and future viability – if we implement them with responsibility and courage.
