Exchange of experience with FCC Entsorga

Recycling: WI product range in use

Whether waste, compost or scrap: handling bulky materials and optimising load security is always a challenge for companies in the recycling sector. Commercial and household waste in particular often contains materials and parts that do not fit on every bucket. WI light material buckets with hydraulic hold-down devices have proven their worth in this type of work, as was recently confirmed by an exchange of experiences with our customer FCC Entsorga from Tainach in Carinthia.

A pioneer in recycling with state-of-the-art technology

FCC Entsorga, a subsidiary of the FCC Group, is a leading company in the field of waste management and recycling in Austria. Since 2006, they have increasingly specialised in recycling and the processing of materials and are a reliable partner for municipal and industrial waste disposal in Carinthia. On its site of over 10 hectares, the company relies on state-of-the-art technologies and innovative solutions to efficiently process and recycle 56,000 tonnes of waste every year. Large quantities of household and commercial waste are not only collected and sorted, but also processed so that valuable materials can be returned to the economic cycle.

“In our company, we mainly have Winkelbauer equipment on our construction machinery. We appreciate the quality and reliability of the equipment and the partnership-based cooperation.”

Plant manager Hans Jürgen Buch

Robust but lightweight design guarantees maximum performance

At the turn of the year, another VOLVO L120 was put into operation at FCC Entsorga, equipped with a WI light material bucket with hydraulic hold-down and the matching VOLVO L50-L120 quick coupler system. After the first few months of using the bucket, plant manager Hans Jürgen Buch is very satisfied with the results:

“In recent years, we have had very good experiences with the quality and performance of Winkelbauer buckets. Versions of the equipment and the material used enable us to move bulky and bulky materials safely and efficiently.”

The lightweight construction of the bucket (2,500 kg), the high wear resistance of the processed Hardox steel, which is used in the right positions (bucket corners and side cutting edges), as well as the reversible bolt-on blade made of HB 500 blade steel, easily manage over 2,500 operating hours per year. These reference hours have already been achieved by the blades supplied to date, confirmed plant manager Hans Jürgen Buch. Every day, FCC Entsorga uses 2-3 WI light material buckets on a VOLVO wheel loader or on a Senebogen telescopic loader, with a bucket capacity of up to 5 m3 and a cutting width of 3 m.

Hydraulic quick coupler for wheel loaders

Another highlight is the hydraulic WI quick coupler for wheel loaders, which is used daily at FCC Entsorga. Hydraulic quick couplers have become indispensable for excavators, but they are still rarely used for wheel loaders. One of the advantages of hydraulic quick couplers is that the driver can switch between different attachments quickly and easily without having to get out of the cab. “This not only saves time, but also significantly increases the flexibility and efficiency of work processes,” says Buch.
